Please join us for a LIVE, virtual tour, talk, and tasting with famed Hakkaisan Brewery in Niigata, Japan. This event is hosted by Timothy Sullivan and Hakkaisan Brewery Vice President Masato Nagumo. Nagumo-san will sit down for an interview and take us on a tour of the brewery’s yuki muro (snow storage cellar), home of the Hakkaisan 3-year Snow Aged Junmai Ginjo sake. Tim will provide a guided tasting of some of our favorite Hakkaisan sake.

Timothy Sullivan is the founder of UrbanSake.com, a resource for sake professionals and enthusiasts. Designated as Sake Samurai from Japan Sake Brewers Association in 2007, he also completed a one year sake brewing internship in 2017 at Hakkaisan Sake Brewery in Niigata Japan, and currently works for them as a Global Brand Ambassador.
Timothy is at the forefront of sake education, both to the general public and also to industry professionals. He combines first-hand knowledge of sake brewing techniques along with a deep understanding of the sake industry. Based in New York City.
Masato Nagumo

Masato Nagumo is the Vice President of Hakkaisan Sake Brewery. He grew up living at the sake brewery and he is the 4th generation of his family to produce sake at Hakkaisan. He currently works as a member of the overseas export sales team. Masato has experience working as a sake brewer at Hakkaisan as well as introducing Hakkaisan sake across the globe. He is based in Tokyo and will be live streaming from Niigata, Japan for this event.
